- No OS Image on IBM p710by sdf1977 on 2024-04-18 at 01:45
Hi We have an old AIX server that rarely gets used, but is kept around for “just in case” events. I had a look at it the other day and it shows “No OS image was detected by the firmware” I have found this link: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/resolving-no-os-image-detected-boot-hang the problem is that when connecting using PuTTY over a serial connection, it wont recognize that I’m pressing Ctrl+C and then “1” (I’ve tried so much I could give a parent hitting F5 for Taylor Swift tickets a run for their money) The server itself doesn’t have a video port, so I can’t go the traditional way and hook up a monitor. Not sure how these things get installed in the first place, must be through sense of smell or something. Can anyone advise a solution, please? Many thanks! submitted by /u/sdf1977[link][comments]

- IBM Hardware, Software, And Support Prices Hikedby Timothy Prickett Morgan on 2024-04-08 at 04:07
Last fall/summer we caught wind of the fact that IBM was going to raise prices on hardware and software effective this year, and then we never saw the announcement letter from Big Blue on General Price Harmonization or the one on price increases relating specifically to Power Systems and IBM i. As it turns out, those announcements were made on September 1 last year and they went into effect on January 1 – something that was not apparent to us (or the business partners that we talk to from time to time) until we were reviewing the subscription pricing deal … The post IBM Hardware, Software, And Support Prices Hiked appeared first on IT Jungle.
