IBM Instana/Turbonomic demonstration for containerized & core business (VM based) applications. Prototype (MVP) based on real life cases.

Digital businesses depend on the performance and availability of critical applications, interconnected systems, infrastructure, and hybrid multi-cloud. The variability in demand that businesses experience can easily result in some applications being starved of resources, while others are over-provisioned, leading to poor customer experience, brand damage and cost overruns. In this demo, you will see how AIOps is used to improve a hybrid application availability with IBM Instana and Turbonomic (IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps).

This demo, a fictional Airline Company “Acme Air” application, relies on a set of containerized microservices hosted on a Red Hat OpenShift cluster with Core Components on Oracle, AIX, and IBM Power. This infrastructure is observed by Instana using different agents (OpenShift, Oracle, AIX, IBM i, Db2 for i, IBM Power) and will provide data to Turbonomic.

This asset – made in IBM Client Engineering – is a Data Fabric Solution in the Hybrid Multi Cloud Era: It demonstrates the ability to view, access, manipulate and analyze data without the need to know or understand its physical format or location, and without having to move or copy it.

Prototype (MVP) based on real customer requests, it is a good conversation starter illustrating the use of the latest technologies on a live environment (#ShowNotTell) and a fictive Retail company ‘RetailOne’: cloud native / Cloud Pak for Data microservice architecture on Red Hat OpenShift.
